Dick stepped out onto the balcony, he looked over his shoulder and smiled at the outburst of laughter coming from the kitchen and then slid the glass door shut behind him, walking over to the loveseat that Roy was sitting on. “Hey don't take up the whole thing!” Roy grouched as Dick flopped down and proceeded to take up most of the room.

Dick grinned as he threw his legs over the arm of the loveseat and leaned against Roy's chest. “Hush or I won't share the beer,” he said as he held up one of the two bottles of he had.

Fine be a space hog,” Roy said as he grabbed a beer and wrapped an arm around Dick's middle.

Dick smirked as he stretched out more as the two lapsed into a comfortable silence. Each content to just be there and no worries to think about.

If you could get on a plane and go anywhere,” Dick said breaking the silence, “Where would you go?”

Anywhere huh?” Roy said as he took a sip of his beer and ran a hand through Dick's hair. “Hmm well there's that little island south of Hawaii, great surfing and had this little hole in the wall bar, they brew their own beer. Though you do have to take a boat to get to it too, does that count?”

I'll give you half points because of the boat,” Dick murmurs grinning.

Oh we're doing this for points then? Okay Short Pants, you're turn. You get on a plane and go . . . “

There's a little town down in Florida that Haley's use to winter at. It's a nice little town. People were always friendly – even to us “circus folk.” Beautiful beaches, the water was so blue there were times when you couldn't tell where the water stopped and the sky began. The best time of day though was at dawn when the sun came up. I swear the sky held every color of the rainbow at that time. It always took my breath away. “

Roy could hear the warmth and underlining longing in Dick's voice and snuggled him closer.

We should go there some time, watch the sun come up.”

I did once,” Dick said softly. “Same quiet town, same friendly people, the beach was just as blue, and sunrise was just a glorious . . . “

But?”

Mom and Dad weren't there to enjoy it with me.” Dick whispered a little bit thicker.

Roy kissed Dick's temple and moved his hand in little circles on Dick's stomach soothingly. “Well I'll give it a 4.5 out of 5.”

Only a 4.5?” Dick asked with a quirk.

It made you sad,” Roy said tightening his hold.

Hmmm I think my mistake was going there alone,” Dick conceded. “Okay Speedy top my 4.5”

Oh I can easily top you,” Roy snarked as he waggled his eyebrows.”

Boo. That was so bad,” Dick laughed as he took a drink from his beer.”

Roy grinned as he took his own drink and settled back in the loveseat. “Okay, I get on a plane

and I go to . . .San Diego.”

San Diego? Lame! That barely gets you a 2.” Dick snorts.

Hey San Diego is a nice town. It's not a crazy as LA, it has a nice zoo, and that big comic book convention.”

Comic book . . . you've been hanging out with Bart too much. At least if you said somewhere like Aspen you can say you were going for the skiing,” Dick countered.

And saying Aspen would only get you a 3 because it put's you with the jet setters and the trust fund set,” Roy pointed out.

Okay I know,” Roy holding a hand, “That little town in France, in the fall . . “

With the film festival,” Dick said warmly as he remembered.

Remember that little bistro?” Roy chuckled.

Where we stayed almost half the night? I'm surprised the owner didn't kick us out.” Dick laughed.

I think his wife was enjoying the show,” came the quip. “But there's where I'd go Man-O.”

Dick nodded as he sipped his beer. “A perfect 5 Speedy,” he said as he clicked his bottle with Roy's as they both leaned back and lost themselves in memories.
